About Me
Susan Doiron is an EMDRIA Approved Consultant-in-Training, EMDRIA Certified Therapist and Credit Provider in Abbotsford, British Columbia Canada. After working in the field for more than 20 years, Susan is expanding her private practice to include Fairy Tale Method© training and providing consultation as a consultant-in-training for EMDR Therapists.
Susan deeply appreciates the power and efficiency of EMDR. In addition to her clinical work, she is also an author of adult fairy tales, and values the depth and symbolism that fairy tales provide. The Fairy Tale Method she developed uses the symbolic richness of storytelling to enhance EMDR therapy, offering clients a powerful and imaginative path to healing. Susan has trained EMDR therapists in the Fairy Tale Method across Canada and in the US.
She has presented at the EMDR Canada National Conference on the Fairy Tale Method in Vancouver BC in 2025.
Susan has a Master of Education in Counselling with experience in the field since 2004 beginning in Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island and in 2022 she relocated her private practice to Abbotsford British Columbia. She is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association, and a Certified EMDRIA Therapist and CE Provider. She also has a background as an adult educator.
Susan’s psychotherapy experiences include treating depression and anxiety, trauma and recovery, grief counselling, stress reduction, life transitions and she has worked with adults, children, and youth. She currently works with adults.
Her introduction to the field of trauma therapy began while working with survivors of sexual assault and historic sexual abuse. She currently works with police, veterans, health care professionals, educators, as well as, victims of crime, childhood trauma, domestic violence and creative types.
